The following finishes are available as standard from Kollmann Monumental Works. Other custom finishes can be produced on a special order basis. KMW provides numerous color and finish combinations for you and your customers to choose from.

|
|
Polished |
|
|
The Polished finish is a highly reflective, shiny, mirror gloss finish. The full color, depth and crystal structure of the stone is visible. A polished finish seals the surface pores and is therefore, nearly impervious to weather and chemical wear. |
|
|
Honed |
|
|
A smooth, matte, satin surface without reflection, the Honed finish show the full color of the stone. It is produced with the same equipment as the polished finishes; however, the honing process ends prior to the buffing stage. |
|
|
Sawed |
|
|
A coarse surface, which is commonly used for the backside of slants and uprights. It is produced by sawing a block or slab of granite into the shape or form you prefer without using the polishing equipment afterwards. |
|
|
Rock Pitch |
|
|
A rough chiseled appearance, which gives the granite a rustic effect. It is produced by using hand chisels, air hammers and air drills to form the granite into the shape or form needed. You will typically see rock pitching on the sides of memorials. |
