Stone Cutting Area Diamond Wire Saw "South"
Automatic Slab Polisher Granite Slab Splitter
Splitting Large Slabs Side View of Mill Outside
|
The Mill is the granite manufacturing and fabricating center for KMW. We saw rough blocks from quarries "as seen above" with our large diamond wire saw.
The smaller diamond wire saws "as seen to the left" are used to saw the slabs into bevel markers, slants, custom monuments, signs, and Civic memorials.
The stone cutting area is where we do all of the handtooling for carvings and lettering. We also use this area for cutting the granite into the shapes and sizes that are needed. You can learn more about stonecutting in our production section of our site.
The Automatic slab polisher is used to polish the slabs that are cut from the rough blocks. We are capable of polishing any size of slab with our polishing machine.
The slab splitter is used for cutting the granite slabs up to 12" thick into smaller usable pieces such as: flat Markers, monuments, signs, and ledgers. We split large slabs by using air drills and shims, which create enough pressure to split the granite.
The outside area of the mill is where we store all of our unfinished rough granite. Outside you will find granite blocks, numerous slabs, stock products, long ribbons of slants, thousands of markers, & tons of miscellaneous pieces of granite. |
